VirtualTrs was born in the Covid-19 lockdown period of 2020, although the idea was in place long before this.
During the lockdown I spent a lot of time at home with my three children, aged nine, six and one. Using some of the virtual tours included on this website, we toured some of the best sites and museums in the world from the comfort of our own home.
I think it's important that children learn about the world from an early age, which is why this website was put together in a child-friendly fashion, ensuring that everything was easy to find.
With virtual tours gaining popularity around the world, I will continue to update this website with news tours that I discover, with the aim of keeping it free to use for everyone.

VirtualTrs, similar to this website, was built on Ghost, using a theme developed by a third party. I discovered the theme when looking for inspiration for a theme that would be child friendly, bold and easy to use. I fell in love with it instantly, and saw no need to design my own.
I'll explain the advantages of Ghost over WordPress, and vice versa, in another blog post in due course.
